Dell Wyse: A New Android Device to Access Cloud Data Anywhere

Dell recently unveiled an ultra-compact portable device called Dell Wyse “Project Ophelia” that enables users to securely store and manage their data via a cloud computing service.

Dell Wyse can convert any TV or monitor into an interactive display device without the need for a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Dell Wyse was created to let people access their professional or personal data, especially when they are away from their computers, laptops, and smartphones.

Users can instantly and securely access all their content on any display screen wherever they go. Dell Wyse software technology is already used by millions of devices, but Project Ophelia transforms normal displays into a window for accessing a user’s personal cloud data.

Moreover, Dell Wyse has integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth facilities. The device is built on the Android 4 OS for browsing, social networking, media playback, and for Android applications.

It can securely establish a connection with any Windows desktop. The device gets its power from the attached display monitor using its MHL interface to the monitor’s MHL port or via its own USB.

The cloud computing service is managed by the Dell Wyse Cloud Client Manager software-as-a-service (SaaS) to ensure that the data is accessed by the appropriate person.
