Do you often find yourself copying and pasting multiple items and wishing you could access previously copied text or images? Windows 11 includes a built-in Clipboard History feature that saves your recently copied items so you can paste them later.
Enable Clipboard History in Windows 11
Before you can use this feature, you need to turn it on in your system settings.
- Press the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.
- Select System from the left sidebar.
- Scroll down on the right pane and click on Clipboard.
- Toggle the switch next to Clipboard history to the On position.
How to Use Clipboard History
Once enabled, you can easily access your copied items.
- Copy text, images, or links as you normally would using Ctrl + C.
- When you are ready to paste an item, press the Windows key + V instead of the usual Ctrl + V.
- A small Clipboard panel will appear displaying your recently copied items.
- Click on the item you want to paste into your document or application.
You can also pin items you use frequently by clicking the pin icon on an item in the Clipboard history panel, ensuring it won’t be deleted when you clear your clipboard or restart your computer.
