Aakash 2, codenamed UbiSlate 7Ci is an Android based tablet computer produced by a British Company DataWind along with India-based company Quad. Aakash 2 , an updated version of Aakash tablet was released on November 11, 2012.

Aakash 2 is an extremely low cost tablet with 7 inch touch screen with ARM 11 processor and 512MB RAM. Aakash 2 runs on Android 4.0.3 ice-cream sandwich platform. The tablet has 2 USB ports and is capable of playing HD videos.

Aakash series of tablets are developed as a part of India’s e-learning program for colleges and universities. The Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development buys and distributes the tablet to students from 25,000 colleges and 400 universities. (Price in India: Rs.2263 & Rs.1130 for students)
A commercial version of Aakash 2 tablet is marketed as UbiSlate 7Ci at a price of 60$. For downloading apps, the tablet has access to more than 150,00 apps from Android market and getjar (an independent market).
