How to Insert a Text Box in Word

Text boxes allow you to place text anywhere on the page, independent of the normal margins.

Adding a Text Box

  1. Go to the Insert tab.
  2. Click Text Box in the Text group.
  3. Choose a pre-formatted style or click Draw Text Box.
  4. Click and drag on your document to create the box, then begin typing inside it.
