Samsung Electronics recently unveiled their latest OLED TV at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013. It is by far the first curved OLED TV to be available in the market. By bending the OLED panel, the viewing experience has been enhanced, providing a realistic surrounding visual effect.
An OLED is an organic light-emitting diode where the electroluminescent layer placed between two electrodes emits light when an electric current is passed through it. OLED screens are already utilised in computers, mobile displays, game consoles, etc.
Moreover, the curved OLED TV is slightly different from other flat TVs in terms of its panorama effect. The picture quality is optimised so that the distance between the user and the TV screen is nearly the same at all angles. The OLED TV displayed at CES 2013 is a 55-inch model.
