By default, Windows 11 provides a simple right-click menu to change your desktop icon size, but it only offers three rigid options: Large, Medium, and Small. The Mouse Wheel Shortcut
Instead of relying on the standard right-click context menu, you can dynamically scale your desktop icons using a combination of your keyboard and your mouse scroll wheel.
- Navigate to your Windows 11 desktop so you can see your icons and your wallpaper. Ensure no other application windows are selected.
- Press and hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard.
- While holding the Ctrl key, slowly scroll your mouse wheel up (away from you). You will instantly see your desktop icons grow larger.

How to Reset the Size
