How to Create a Local User Account in Windows 11 Without a Microsoft Account

Microsoft pushes users heavily towards creating a Microsoft Account when setting up Windows 11, but creating an offline, local account is still possible if you know where to look.

How to Create a Local Account

1. Open Settings > Accounts > Other users.
2. Click Add account next to “Add other user”.
3. In the Microsoft sign-in window, click the link that says “I don’t have this person’s sign-in information”.
4. On the next screen, select “Add a user without a Microsoft account”.
5. Enter the username and password for the local account and click Next.
