Navigating through the Windows 11 Settings app to find a specific configuration can sometimes feel like a maze. For advanced users who want everything in one place, Windows has a hidden feature affectionately known as “God Mode” (officially called the Windows Master Control Panel). Enabling this creates a single folder containing hundreds of advanced administrative tools and system settings in one organized list.
How to Enable the God Mode Folder
Setting this up takes less than a minute. Note: You must be logged into Windows with an account that has Administrator privileges to do this.
- Go to your Windows Desktop.
- Right-click on any empty space.
- Hover over New in the context menu, then select Folder.
- A new folder will appear on your desktop with the name highlighted, ready to be renamed.
- Copy the following exact string of text (including the brackets and periods) and paste it as the folder’s name:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}- Press Enter.
The moment you press Enter, the folder icon will transform into a blue Control Panel icon, and the name “GodMode” will disappear. (You can actually replace the word “GodMode” in the code string above with any word you like, such as “Advanced Settings,” but the icon behavior remains the same).
How to Use God Mode
Double-click the new blue icon on your desktop to open it.
Inside, you will find a massive, alphabetized list of over 200 system settings. These are categorized into sections like Administrative Tools, Network and Sharing Center, Power Options, User Accounts, and Windows Defender Firewall.
Instead of clicking through multiple menus to change your mouse cursor speed, manage hard drive partitions, or view network connections, you can simply scroll through this list or use the search bar in the top right corner of the window. Double-clicking any item in the list will instantly launch that specific tool or setting page.
