Whether you are trying to read tiny text on an outdated website or you want to zoom out to see a massive image in full, Google Chrome makes it incredibly easy to scale the size of any webpage to fit your preferences.
Method 1: Using Keyboard Shortcuts (Fastest)
Using your keyboard is the quickest way to adjust the zoom level on the fly.
- To Zoom In: Hold down the Ctrl key (or Command ⌘ on a Mac) and press the Plus (+) key.
- To Zoom Out: Hold down the Ctrl key (or Command ⌘ on a Mac) and press the Minus (-) key.
- To Reset to 100%: Hold down the Ctrl key (or Command ⌘ on a Mac) and press the Zero (0) key.
Pro Tip: If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, you can hold down the Ctrl or Command key and simply roll the scroll wheel up to zoom in, and down to zoom out!
Method 2: Using the Chrome Menu
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click the More icon in the top-right corner of the window (it looks like three vertical dots).
- Look halfway down the menu for the section labeled Zoom.
- Click the Plus (+) icon to zoom in, or the Minus (-) icon to zoom out.

How to Set a Permanent Default Zoom Level
If you find yourself constantly zooming in on every single website you visit, you can tell Chrome to make everything bigger by default.
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Settings.
- In the left-hand sidebar, click on Appearance.
- Look for the Page zoom dropdown menu.
- Change it from 100% to your preferred size (e.g., 125%). Now, every website you visit will automatically load at that larger size.
