Many Android smartphones—particularly those from Xiaomi, POCO, Motorola, and OnePlus—ship with a controversial camera feature enabled right out of the box. Every time you take a photo, the camera software automatically burns a permanent watermark into the bottom corner of the image. How to Remove the “Shot On” Camera Watermark
You must turn off the watermark feature directly within the default Camera application.
- Open the default Camera app on your Android smartphone.
- Look for the Settings menu. This is usually represented by a gear icon in the top corner, or you may need to tap a “More” or “Hamburger” (three lines) menu first to find the gear.
- Scroll through the camera settings until you find an option labeled Watermark, Device watermark, or Shot on watermark.
- Tap on it to open the watermark menu.
- Turn the toggle switch to the Off position.
- (Optional) In some manufacturer UIs, you may also see a toggle for a “Time watermark.” Turn that off as well if you do not want the date and time burned into the image.
The camera will immediately stop stamping the logo onto your photos. All future photographs you take will be 100% clean, utilizing the entire frame for the image itself.
