The Precision Monitoring Vector
When Apple introduced the iPhone X with its prominent display notch, they removed the numerical battery percentage indicator from the main status bar to save space. Users were forced to guess their remaining battery life by squinting at a tiny, solid white icon, or they had to constantly swipe down into the Control Centre to view the exact number. For users suffering from battery anxiety, this visual approximation is entirely insufficient. You need absolute, numerical precision.
How to Turn On the Battery Percentage
Apple finally relented and reintroduced the ability to hardcode the numerical percentage directly inside the battery icon itself.
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down the main list until you locate the Battery option (it features a green icon). Tap it.
3. Look at the absolute top of the Battery configuration screen.
4. Locate the toggle switch labelled Battery Percentage.
5. Tap the toggle to switch it to the On position (the switch will turn green).
The Visual Change: Look at the top-right corner of your iPhone screen. The solid white battery icon has instantly transformed. The exact numerical percentage (e.g., “82”) is now permanently etched inside the battery outline. If the battery level drops below 20%, the number and the outline will turn red, providing an unmistakable, high-contrast warning.
