How to Enable God Mode in Windows 11

Windows 11 is packed with hundreds of settings scattered across the modern Settings app and the legacy Control Panel. This separation often makes it frustrating to find specific administrative tools or advanced system configurations. Fortunately, Microsoft still includes a hidden feature colloquially known as “God Mode,” which centralises every available Windows setting into a single, easily accessible folder.

What is God Mode in Windows 11?

God Mode (officially known as the Windows Master Control Panel shortcut) is a hidden folder that provides direct access to over 200 system tools, administrative settings, and configuration options. Instead of navigating through multiple layers of menus, God Mode presents everything in one comprehensive list, sorted logically by category.

This feature is incredibly useful for IT professionals, power users, and anyone who wants to customise their Windows experience without searching for specific tools.

How to Enable God Mode

Creating the God Mode folder is a simple process that does not require modifying the Windows Registry or installing third-party software.

1. Right-click on any empty space on your Windows 11 desktop.
2. Select New and then click on Folder.
3. Right-click the newly created folder and select Rename (or select the folder and press F2).
4. Copy and paste the following exact string as the folder name:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Once you press Enter, the folder icon will instantly change to the classic Control Panel icon, and the name “GodMode” will disappear. You can now double-click this icon to access the master list of all Windows settings.

Customising the God Mode Folder

Although the default string uses “GodMode,” you can actually name the folder anything you prefer. The text before the full stop dictates the name displayed on the desktop.

For example, if you want the folder to be called “Advanced Settings,” use this string instead:

How to Remove God Mode

If you no longer need access to the master control panel, removing it is as simple as deleting a standard folder.

1. Right-click the God Mode icon on your desktop.

3. The folder will be moved to the Recycle Bin.

Deleting this folder only removes the shortcut; it does not delete or modify any actual system settings on your computer.
