When you click the time in the top-right corner of your Mac menu bar, it opens the Notification Center. Alongside your actual notifications, Apple pre-populates this area with several widgets, including a prominent “Siri Suggests” widget. This widget uses machine learning to recommend apps you might want to open, contacts you might want to message, or shortcuts you frequently use.
If you prefer a clean workspace, or if you simply find it creepy that Siri is constantly monitoring your habits to suggest what you should do next, you can completely remove this widget from your Notification Center.
How to Remove the Siri Suggests Widget
You can customise the Notification Center layout directly from the widget panel itself.
- Click the Date and Time in the absolute top-right corner of your Mac’s menu bar to open the Notification Center.
- Scroll down to the very bottom of the Notification Center panel.
- Click the Edit Widgets button.
- The screen will darken, and the Notification Center will expand into edit mode.
- Locate the Siri Suggests widget block currently active in the right-hand column.
- Hover your mouse over the widget. A small minus (-) button will appear in its top-left corner.
- Click the minus (-) button to instantly delete the widget.
- Click the blue Done button in the bottom-right corner of the screen to save your changes.
The Siri Suggests block is now gone. Your Notification Center will only display the widgets you actually want, keeping your workspace clean and preventing your Mac from constantly trying to guess your next move.
