How to View Saved Passwords in Google Chrome

Forgetting passwords is a common frustration, but if you use Google Chrome, there’s a good chance the browser has remembered them for you. Chrome includes a built-in Google Password Manager that securely stores your login credentials for various websites. If you need to retrieve a forgotten password, you can easily view it directly within the browser settings. Here is how to view your saved passwords in Google Chrome on both desktop and mobile devices.

How to View Saved Passwords on Desktop

If you are using Chrome on a Windows PC, Mac, or Linux computer, follow these steps to access your password vault:

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click the three-dot menu icon (⋮) located in the top-right corner of the browser window.
  3. Select Google Password Manager from the drop-down menu. (Alternatively, you can navigate to Settings > Autofill and passwords > Google Password Manager).
  4. You will see a list of all the websites and accounts for which Chrome has saved a password. Scroll through the list or use the search bar to find the specific site you are looking for.
  5. Click on the site or account you want to view.
  6. Chrome will likely prompt you to enter your computer’s system password, PIN, or biometric authentication (like a fingerprint or Face ID) for security purposes.
  7. Once authenticated, click the eye icon (or “Show password” button) next to the password field to reveal the hidden characters.
