How to Generate a Wi-Fi QR Code for Free

Creating this QR code is incredibly simple and entirely free. You do not need to download any sketchy apps or pay for a subscription service. There are many reputable, free websites that generate these codes instantly in your browser.

For this guide, we recommend using a trusted tool like qifi.org because it generates the code locally in your browser. This means your Wi-Fi password is never actually sent over the internet to their servers, ensuring your network remains secure.

1. Open your web browser (on your computer or your phone) and go to qifi.org.
2. You will see a simple form with three fields.
3. SSID: Enter the exact name of your Wi-Fi network. This is case-sensitive, so if your network is called "HomeNet5G", you must capitalise the H, N, and G.
4. Encryption: Leave this set to WPA/WPA2/WPA3 (this is the standard security protocol used by 99% of modern home routers).
5. Key: Type in your Wi-Fi password exactly as it appears. Again, this is case-sensitive.
