The Missing Boot Logo
When you start a Windows 11 PC, you normally see a manufacturer logo (such as Dell, Lenovo, or ASUS) alongside the spinning Windows loading animation. However, if you have been troubleshooting startup issues or modifying system configuration settings, you might find that your screen remains entirely black during boot until the login screen suddenly appears. This behavior is typically caused by a specific setting within the System Configuration utility (msconfig) called “No GUI boot.”
Restoring the Startup Screen
To re-enable the standard Windows 11 boot animation and manufacturer logo, you must reverse this setting using the same built-in tool. Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box. Type msconfig and press Enter. This will launch the System Configuration application.
Navigate to the Boot tab at the top of the window. In the lower section labeled “Boot options,” look for the checkbox that says No GUI boot. Uncheck this box. Click Apply, and then click OK. Windows will prompt you to restart your computer to apply the changes. Upon your next reboot, the familiar logo and loading animation will be restored.
