How to Completely Disable ‘Typing Suggestions’ (Text Prediction) in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge includes a built-in feature called “Text prediction” (or typing suggestions) designed to speed up your writing by predicting the next word or phrase you intend to type in web forms and text boxes. While this can be helpful for composing casual emails, it can be highly intrusive and a potential privacy concern when drafting sensitive documents, entering confidential search queries, or coding within a web-based IDE. Disable Text Prediction via Edge Settings

You can instantly disable the typing suggestion engine through the browser’s language settings. This method does not require administrative privileges or a browser restart.

1. Open Microsoft Edge.
2. Click the three horizontal dots (Settings and more) located in the top-right corner of the window.
3. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
