The “Simulate Color Space” setting is an Android developer tool used to simulate different types of color blindness (such as Monochromacy, Deuteranomaly, Protanomaly, and Tritanomaly) directly on the device screen. If this setting is accidentally enabled, the entire display’s colors will appear distorted or entirely grayscale. This guide explains how to completely disable this simulation and return your screen to normal.
Prerequisites
You must have Developer Options enabled. To do this, go to Settings > About phone and tap the Build number seven times.
Disable Simulate Color Space
Open Developer Options
Navigate to Settings > System > Developer options.
Locate the Hardware Accelerated Rendering Section
Scroll down through the developer menu until you find the section titled Hardware accelerated rendering.
Reset the Color Space Simulation
Find the option labeled Simulate color space and tap on it. A popup menu will appear. Select Disabled from the list.
Verify the Configuration
As soon as you select “Disabled”, the Android system will instantly revert the display to its natural, full-color rendering. No device reboot is required for this change to take effect.
