How to Transfer Notes Between Google Accounts in Google Keep

When you transition from a personal Google account to a professional Google Workspace account, or if you simply decide to create a brand-new Gmail address, you will quickly discover a frustrating limitation: Google Keep does not have a native “Transfer All Notes” button. You cannot seamlessly migrate an entire database of 500 checklists from one account to another with a single click. However, you can use a combination of the Share feature and Google Takeout to effectively transfer your critical data.

Method 1: Using the Collaboration Feature (Best for a Few Notes)

If you only need to migrate a handful of highly important notes (like your core passwords or your active project checklists), the fastest method is to share them with your new account.

1. Open Google Keep while logged into your Old Account.
2. Click on the specific note you want to transfer.
3. Click the Collaborator icon (the silhouette with the plus sign) at the bottom of the note.
4. Type the email address of your New Account and click Save.
5. Log out, and log into your New Account. The shared note will instantly appear on your dashboard.
6. To permanently transfer ownership, you must click the three vertical dots on the note, select Make a copy, and then delete the original shared file.

This method forces you to manually copy each note one by one, but it perfectly preserves checkboxes, colors, and embedded images.

Method 2: Using Google Docs (Best for Bulk Text Transfers)

If you have dozens of text-heavy notes, the collaboration method is far too tedious. You can bulk-export your text data using Google Docs.

1. While logged into your Old Account, open Google Keep on a desktop web browser.
2. Hover over a note to reveal the checkmark in the top-left corner. Click it to select the note. Continue clicking until you have selected up to 50 notes simultaneously.
3. Click the three vertical dots at the top of the screen and select Copy to Google Docs.
4. Google will merge all 50 notes into a single, massive Word-style document. You can then simply share that single Google Doc with your New Account.

Method 3: Using Google Takeout (Best for Complete Archival)

If you are permanently deleting your Old Account and need to download an offline backup of your entire Keep database, you must use Google Takeout.

1. Navigate to takeout.google.com while logged into your Old Account.
2. Click Deselect all, then scroll down and check only the box next to Keep.
3. Scroll to the bottom and click Next step, then Create export.

Google will compress your entire Keep database into a single `.zip` file containing HTML files for every single note. While you cannot “import” these HTML files directly back into your New Account’s Google Keep interface, you will permanently possess a highly readable, offline archive of all your data on your local hard drive.
