When migrating to a new Android device from a legacy mobile operating system (or a basic feature phone), critical address book data is often trapped on the physical SIM card’s highly limited integrated circuit memory. To force the Android OS to execute a mass extraction of this raw geometric data and inject it into the cloud-synced Google ecosystem, you must deploy the SIM Import protocol.
Executing the Hardware Extraction (Android)
The native Google Contacts application possesses a deeply embedded hardware interfacing subroutine capable of bypassing internal storage and directly reading the proprietary vCard tables stored on the SIM microchip.
- Ensure the physical SIM card containing your legacy contacts is securely inserted into the Android device’s logic board.
- Open the native Google Contacts application.
- Look at the absolute bottom-right corner of the interface and tap Fix & manage.
Deploying the SIM Import Vector
- From the resulting system matrix, locate and tap the absolute command labeled Import from SIM. (If this command is mathematically absent, the Android kernel has determined that the SIM card’s contact partition is entirely empty, or the SIM is corrupted/unreadable).
- The OS will spawn a modal asking you to define the target data matrix. You must select exactly which Google Account (or Device storage partition) will receive the incoming data payload. Select your primary Google Account.
- The engine will execute a preliminary scan of the SIM card and render a visual list of every detected contact. By default, every contact is mathematically selected (checked).
- You can manually uncheck specific profiles, or leave the global selection intact.
- Look at the absolute top-right of the screen and tap Import.
The exact millisecond you tap Import, the Android kernel executes the payload transfer. It violently extracts the raw alphanumeric strings from the SIM’s localized memory and reconstructs them into standard Google Contact profiles within your chosen account. The Google sync engine will then immediately push this newly acquired data into the cloud, ensuring total geometric parity across all your devices.
