How to Reset Network Settings on iPhone

The Connection Eradication Vector

If your iPhone suddenly refuses to connect to a specific Wi-Fi network, consistently drops cellular calls, or fails to pair with a Bluetooth device despite multiple reboots, the internal networking cache has likely become catastrophically corrupted. You cannot manually hunt down and fix individual broken registry keys. You must execute a master reset protocol, commanding the iOS kernel to completely shred all saved Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth pairings, and VPN profiles, restoring the networking hardware to a factory-clean state.

How to Reset Network Settings

Apple isolated this highly destructive command deep within the Transfer or Reset menu to prevent accidental execution, as it requires you to re-authenticate with every network you use.

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and tap on the grey gear icon labelled General.
3. The Deep Navigation: Scroll all the way down to the absolute bottom of the General menu. Tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone.
4. At the bottom of the next screen, tap the Reset button. (Do not tap “Erase All Content and Settings,” as that wipes the entire phone).
5. The Execution Trigger:
* A context menu will slide up from the bottom containing multiple reset options.
* Tap Reset Network Settings.
* Warning: This action is permanent. Ensure you actually know your home Wi-Fi password before proceeding, as it will be deleted.
6. The Authentication Phase: The iOS kernel will instantly demand your 6-digit lock screen passcode to verify you have the authority to wipe the network configuration.
7. The Final Confirmation: A red button will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap it to execute the command.
8. The Reboot Sequence: The iPhone screen will go black, and the Apple logo will appear alongside a progress bar. The kernel is actively purging the network cache and rebuilding the default configuration tables. When the phone reboots to the lock screen, your cellular connection will be restored, but you must manually reconnect to all Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices.
