How to Disable the Hidden macOS Spotlight Search Web Results

Apple’s Spotlight Search is a powerful tool for finding files and apps on your Mac. However, by default, it also displays web results, which can clutter your search and expose your queries to the internet.

Why Disable Web Results?

If you prefer Spotlight to only search your local files, turning off web suggestions makes it faster and cleaner.

Steps to Disable

  1. Open System Settings from the Apple menu.
  2. Click on Siri & Spotlight.
  3. Uncheck Siri Suggestions and Web Searches.
