While protecting your individual files is incredibly important, it will not save you if your primary hard drive physically dies or your computer is infected with a vicious ransomware virus. In a catastrophic failure, you would have to buy a new hard drive, purchase a new Windows license, spend hours reinstalling the operating system, and spend days downloading all your applications and configuring your settings.
