With Firefox Relay, you can keep your primary email address private when signing up for websites or online services. Firefox Relay allows you to create up to 5 free email aliases that will automatically forward emails to your real inbox. This way, your personal email address remains hidden from companies you don’t fully trust.
How to Protect Your Email Address with Firefox Relay
To start using Firefox Relay, you will need a Firefox Account and the Firefox Relay browser extension.
- Go to the Firefox Relay website. Sign in or sign up for a Firefox account using the real email address you want to forward emails to.
- Click the Add to Firefox button on the page and follow the prompts to install the extension into your browser.
- Once installed, click the Firefox Relay icon on your browser’s toolbar. Click Manage All Aliases and then click + Generate New Alias. You can delete these aliases anytime and create new ones if they start receiving spam.
The next time you sign up for a website, you can easily copy your email alias from the Relay dashboard by clicking the clipboard icon next to it. Firefox Relay will then act as a shield, forwarding all incoming emails to your real email address without exposing it to the sender.
