What is the Google Calendar Daily Agenda?
Google Calendar has a somewhat hidden feature that automatically emails you a comprehensive summary of your entire day’s schedule every single morning at 5:00 AM. This “Daily Agenda” email includes a list of all your meetings, tasks, and blocked-out time slots.
While this might be useful for a busy executive who relies purely on email, it is incredibly redundant if you already have the Google Calendar widget on your phone’s home screen or keep the calendar tab open all day on your work computer. If you want to declutter your morning inbox, you should turn this notification off.
How to Turn Off the Daily Agenda Email
You must change this setting on a desktop or laptop computer; it cannot currently be disabled from the mobile app.
- Open your web browser and navigate to Google Calendar.
- Hover your mouse over the specific calendar you want to change in the left-hand sidebar (usually your name under “My calendars”).
- Click the More (three dots) icon that appears next to the calendar name.
- Select Settings and sharing from the popup menu.
- In the left-hand sidebar of the settings page, scroll down and click on Other notifications.
- Look at the main panel on the right. At the bottom of the list, you will see an option titled Daily agenda.
- Click the dropdown menu next to it (which is likely set to “Email”).
- Select None.
The change is saved automatically. Starting tomorrow morning, you will no longer wake up to a 5:00 AM summary email cluttering your primary inbox.
