The iPhone Photos app automatically creates “Memories” and featured photos based on your library. While sometimes nice, it can surface painful memories or photos you’d rather keep private.
How to Stop Automatic Memories
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap on Photos.
- Scroll down to the “Memories & Featured Photos” section.
- Toggle off the switch for Show Holiday Events and Show Featured Content. This will stop the app from automatically surfacing these collections.
