Windows Update automatically downloads and installs hardware drivers, but sometimes it installs a broken or incompatible driver that causes blue screens or glitches. You can stop it from updating drivers automatically.
How to Stop Automatic Driver Updates
- Press the Windows key and type Advanced system settings. Open it.
- Click the Hardware tab at the top.
- Click the Device Installation Settings button.
- Select No (your device might not work as expected).
- Click Save Changes.
