Modern Android smartphones include a feature called “Media Suggestions” integrated directly into the Quick Settings panel (the drop-down notification shade). When you connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones or plug your phone into your car, Android attempts to be helpful by automatically populating a media player widget in the notification shade, suggesting podcasts from Spotify, music from YouTube Music, or audiobooks. Disable Media Suggestions via Sound Settings
To stop the operating system from proactively querying your media applications and pinning a widget to your notification shade, you must disable the feature deep within the Sound & Vibration menu.
- Open the main Settings app on your Android smartphone.
- Scroll down and tap on Sound & vibration (or just “Sound” on older Android versions).
- Scroll down until you locate the Media section. Tap on it.
