Since 1964, the Ford Mustang has always been a racer’s favourite car. From 1964 to the present, it has undergone a lot of transformations from the first generation to its current fifth generation.

Engine and Transmission

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 returns again in 2013 with new features and packages. The 2013 Ford Mustang GT500 wears a 5.8L supercharged 4V V8 engine. It features a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. It provides a horsepower of 650 (600 ft-lbs torque).

Interior and Comfort Features

With its automatic dual-zone temperature control, manual air conditioning, and seven-colour ambient lighting, it keeps you in a comfortable interior environment. Electronic Power Assist Steering automatically provides optimisation at various speeds and improves fuel efficiency.

It has a Shaker Audio System containing an AM/FM stereo and CD/MP3 player, along with six speakers and two subwoofers. Its navigation system with SiriusXM provides 3D maps with voice-guided turn-by-turn assistance.

Pricing and Future Outlook

If you want one in your garage, it is available for $54,200. A sixth-generation Ford Mustang GT500 will be released in 2014 or 2015. Watch the video below from the Ford team about the new 2013 GT500.

According to Ford, the next generation (i.e. sixth generation) Ford Mustang 2015 will replace the solid rear axle with independent rear suspension. An option for an EcoBoost engine will be available along with V6 and V8 engines.
