The Payload Consolidation Vector
When you need to email 25 high-resolution photographs or a complex project containing dozens of nested folders, attempting to attach them individually to an email is highly inefficient and often triggers server-side attachment limits. Furthermore, sending loose files risks data corruption during transit. You must consolidate the entire payload into a single, robust archive file before transmission.
How to Zip Multiple Files
macOS includes a deeply integrated compression engine built directly into the Finder, allowing you to generate standard `.zip` archives instantly without requiring any third-party software.
1. Open the Finder application and navigate to the exact folder containing the files you want to compress.
2. You must select all the target files simultaneously.
* If they are in a row, click the first file, hold the Shift key, and click the last file.
* If they are scattered, hold the Command (⌘) key and individually click each file you want to include.
* If you want to compress everything in the folder, simply press Command + A to select all.
3. Once all target files are highlighted (usually in blue), Right-click (or Control-click) on any one of the highlighted files.
4. A context menu will appear. Look for the option that says Compress [X] Items (where X is the number of files you selected).
5. Click this option.
The operating system will instantly spawn a new file in that exact same folder named Archive.zip. This single file contains mathematically compressed copies of all your selected items, ready to be attached to an email or uploaded to a cloud server.
