What is the “Get Even More Out of Windows” Prompt?
Periodically, when you turn on your Windows 10 computer, you might be greeted by a full-screen, blue setup window titled “Get even more out of Windows” or “Let’s finish setting up your device.” This screen interrupts your workflow to suggest setting up Windows Hello, linking your Android phone, subscribing to Microsoft 365, or using OneDrive.
If you have already configured your PC exactly how you want it and have no interest in these extra Microsoft services, this recurring prompt is nothing but a frustrating delay. You can easily disable it in the Settings app.
How to Turn Off the Windows 10 Setup Prompt
You can stop Windows from showing this welcome experience by adjusting your notification settings.
- Click the Start button and open the Settings app (the gear icon).
- Click on System.
- In the left-hand sidebar, select Notifications & actions.
- Scroll down to the section titled Notifications (just above the list of individual apps).
- Look for the checkbox labelled Suggest ways I can finish setting up my device to get the most out of Windows.
- Uncheck this box.
- Additionally, to prevent other similar interruptions, you should also uncheck the box directly below it labelled Show me the Windows welcome experience after updates and occasionally when I sign in to highlight what’s new and suggested.
By disabling these two checkboxes, your computer will boot directly to the desktop or login screen without ever pausing to advertise Microsoft’s optional features, saving you time and frustration.
