How to Turn Off the Screen Time Weekly Report Notifications on an iPhone

Screen Time is a powerful feature in iOS that tracks exactly how many hours you spend on your device and which apps consume the most of your day. By default, Apple sends a summary report notification to your lock screen every single Sunday morning, letting you know if your screen time was up or down compared to the previous week. While this is helpful for users actively trying to curb their smartphone addiction, many people find this weekly unsolicited reminder of their screen habits annoying or stress-inducing. If you want to keep Screen Time running in the background but stop the weekly summary notifications, you can disable them.

How to Stop the Weekly Screen Time Report

Disabling the notification does not turn off the tracking feature itself. You can still open the Settings app at any time to view your detailed usage graphs manually.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down the main menu and tap on Notifications.
  3. You will see a long alphabetical list of every app installed on your device. Scroll down this list until you find Screen Time and tap it.
  4. Look at the very top of the next screen for the master toggle switch labelled Allow Notifications.
  5. Tap the toggle to turn it off (the switch will turn from green to grey).

What if You Want to Turn Off Screen Time Entirely?

If you have no interest in tracking your usage data and want to reclaim the tiny amount of battery life the background tracking consumes, you can disable Screen Time completely.

Go to Settings > Screen Time. Scroll to the very bottom of the page and tap the red text that says Turn Off App & Website Activity (or “Turn Off Screen Time” on older iOS versions). Authenticate with your passcode, and your iPhone will stop monitoring your usage entirely.
