How to Password Protect a Specific Apple Notes Folder

While you can lock individual notes in Apple Notes, you cannot natively lock an entire folder with a password. However, there is a workaround to protect multiple notes at once.

How to Protect Notes

  1. Apple Notes requires you to lock notes individually.
  2. Open the note you want to protect.
  3. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
  4. Tap Lock. You can choose to use your iPhone passcode or create a separate password.
  5. Repeat this for all sensitive notes in the folder. A lock icon will appear next to them.
