How to Disable the Password Requirement for Free Apps on an iPad

Having to type your Apple ID password every time you want to download a free app on your iPad is a frustrating security measure that you can easily turn off.

How to Disable Password for Free Apps

  1. Open Settings on your iPad.
  2. Tap on your name at the top to open your Apple ID settings.
  3. Select Media & Purchases and tap Password Settings.
  4. Under the “Free Downloads” section, toggle off Require Password.
