You need the actual cryptographic App Store Receipt. This file is buried inside the application package itself. You can safely extract this hidden file to prove the software’s authenticity without modifying or breaking the application.
How to Safely Extract a Mac App Store Receipt
You must dive into the application’s internal Package Contents to find the `_MASReceipt` folder.
- Open the Finder on your Mac and navigate to your Applications folder.
- Locate the specific software you purchased (e.g., Final Cut Pro).
- Right-click (or Control-click) the application icon and select Show Package Contents.
- A new Finder window will open, revealing the hidden internal files of the app. Double-click the Contents folder.
