Emergency Location Service (ELS) is a feature built deeply into Android (via Google Play Services) designed to bypass your standard privacy settings during a crisis. If you dial an emergency number (like 911 in the US or 112 in Europe), ELS automatically activates your phone’s GPS, Wi-Fi scanning, and cellular triangulation—even if you explicitly turned Location Services off—and silently transmits your precise coordinates directly to emergency responders. Disable Emergency Location Service (ELS)
