The Notification Center on an iPhone allows you to swipe up from the middle of the Lock Screen to view your history of missed alerts, text messages, and app notifications. While highly convenient, this poses a massive privacy and security risk. If you leave your locked iPhone on a desk, anyone can walk by, swipe up on the screen, and read the contents of your private messages, email subjects, or two-factor authentication (2FA) codes without ever needing to unlock the device with Face ID or a passcode.
This guide explains how to completely disable access to the Notification Center from the iPhone Lock Screen, ensuring your notification history remains strictly private until the device is unlocked.
Disable Notification Center Access
To secure your data, we must revoke Lock Screen access to the Notification Center within the Face ID & Passcode settings.
- Unlock your iPhone and open the main Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap on Face ID & Passcode (or “Touch ID & Passcode” on older models).
- You will be prompted to enter your device’s 6-digit passcode to proceed.
- Scroll down significantly until you reach the section titled “Allow Access When Locked”.

Verify the Absolute Privacy
