When you create a standard reminder in Google Keep, it is bound to a strict chronological trigger (e.g., Tuesday at 9:00 AM). However, if your task is strictly dependent on your physical presence at a specific geographic location (like a grocery store or a hardware shop), a time-based alarm is mathematically useless. To force the Google Keep engine to monitor your GPS coordinates and deploy an alarm the exact millisecond you breach a specific geographic boundary, you must execute a Location-Based Reminder.
Executing the Geofence Protocol
The Location Reminder engine utilizes your smartphone’s background GPS and Wi-Fi triangulation to create a virtual “geofence” around a target address.
- Open the Google Keep application on your mobile device.
- Create a new note or open an existing note containing your location-dependent checklist.
- Look at the absolute top-right corner of the screen and locate the Reminder icon (it visually resembles a classic bell with a plus sign).
