To guarantee you never miss a critical text message or phone call again, you can repurpose the camera hardware on your iPhone, forcing the blindingly bright LED flash to strobe wildly every time a notification arrives.
How the Hardware Integration Works
The LED flash on the back of your iPhone is designed specifically to illuminate dark environments for photography. Because it is directly tied to the core logic board, the iOS operating system can hijack that specific piece of hardware and tie it to the notification engine. This creates a powerful accessibility tool that turns an audio alert into a massive, unmissable visual alarm.
How to Enable the LED Flash Notification
Because this is a deeply integrated accessibility feature, you will not find it in the standard “Sounds & Haptics” menu. It is hidden deep within the system settings.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
