How to Pin a Specific Settings Page to the Windows 11 Start Menu

The Windows 11 Settings app is massive and highly categorised. If you frequently adjust a specific setting—such as switching your audio output device, checking for Windows Updates, or modifying your display resolution—clicking through multiple menus every time is incredibly inefficient.

To speed up your workflow, Microsoft allows you to take any individual page deep within the Settings app and “pin” it directly to your Start menu as a quick-access shortcut.

How to Pin a Settings Page

You can pin almost any sub-menu found within the primary Settings application.

  1. Open the Settings app (press Windows Key + I).
  2. Navigate to the exact page you want to create a shortcut for. For example, if you frequently manage Bluetooth devices, navigate to Bluetooth & devices.
  3. Look at the navigation breadcrumb trail at the top of the Settings window (or the main header text for that section).
  4. If you are in the left-hand sidebar, simply Right-Click on the category name (e.g., right-click on “Windows Update”).
  5. A small context menu will appear. Click Pin to Start.
  6. Windows will display a confirmation dialogue box asking, “Do you want to pin this to Start?” Click Yes.

How to Access and Organise the Shortcut

Once pinned, the shortcut acts exactly like a standard installed application.

  1. Click the Windows Start button.
  2. The new shortcut will appear in your “Pinned” section. Because new items are added to the bottom of the list, you may need to scroll down or click the tiny dot on the right side of the Start menu to view the second page of your pinned apps.
  3. To make it easier to find, click and drag the new Settings icon to the very top row of your Start menu.

Now, whenever you click that icon, the Settings app will open and jump instantly to that specific page, bypassing the main menu entirely.

How to Remove the Pinned Setting

If you no longer need the quick access shortcut, you can remove it without affecting your actual computer settings.

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Locate the pinned Settings icon.
  3. Right-click on the icon.
  4. Select Unpin from Start from the context menu.
